Guild Wars 2: In-House FAQ
The Arena.Net folks have produced one of the first FAQs with regard to Guild Wars 2. It answers a lot of basic questions about the game, including whether or not there will be a subscription fee. Will there be a subscription fee for Guild Wars 2? Nope. Like the original Guild Wars, there will be no subscription fee for Guild Wars 2. You just buy the game and play it online without paying a monthly fee. Will Guild Wars 2 be an MMO? Yes. Guild Wars 2 provides a massive, online persistent world. How is Guild Wars 2 different from other MMOs? While Guild Wars 2 adds a persistent world, it retains the unique nature of the original game including a strong narrative, extensive instanced gameplay, an anti-grind design philosophy, and strong support for competitive play. Will Guild Wars 2 have non-human playable races? Absolutely! In addition to humans, players will be able to create, customize, and play asura, charr, norn, and sylvari characters. The conquerors of Ascalon, the charr are ferocious, warmongering creatures-the intractable foes of humanity. Now, as greater dangers threaten their conquests, the charr legions marshal their war machines to meet their enemies with deadly force. The norn are half-giant brawlers from the frigid northern lands who can shapeshift into mighty bestial forms. They've been driven from their homeland by a force beyond reckon, and now regroup among the lost dwarven ruins of the Shiverpeaks. The asura, who once ruled the caves and tunnels below Tyria, are an advanced race of small stature and large intellect. Having emerged from the depths, the asura aim to rule the surface world with their powerful golems and razor-sharp wit. Not much is known of the sylvari, save that they are a race of sentient plant-beings, newly blossomed into the world. They are the youngest of the races, and are bound together by a common dream. How will character progression work? Will you be raising the level cap? Guild Wars 2 will have the kind of extensive character advancement appropriate to a persistent world RPG. It is our priority to avoid forcing players into the grind-based gameplay that too often accompanies a high level cap. Also, to allow players the freedom to play together even if their friends are at a much higher (or lower) level, we are planning to implement a strong sidekicking system, similar to that used in City of Heroes. We're applying this same philosophy to competitive play. Players will be able to engage in organized, balanced PvP (similar to GvG in the original Guild Wars) without needing to first level up characters, find equipment, or unlock skills. While inside the organized PvP area, all characters will be the same power level and will have access to the same equipment. Will Guild Wars 2 be solo-able? Yes. You will be able to advance your character to the maximum level without ever joining a group if you so desire. Most content will be designed in a solo-friendly way, though often with mechanisms for scaling up in difficulty when more players are involved. This will give players the option to experience the game whichever way they prefer. At the same time, it is important for an MMO community to join together to overcome challenges. There will also be some areas in the game that require a coordinated group effort. Can I play my original Guild Wars character in Guild Wars 2? Because Guild Wars 2 is a whole new game with different professions and races, new technology, and expanded gameplay, it would not be possible to directly use an original Guild Wars character. However, your original Guild Wars character names will be reserved for your use in Guild Wars 2. In addition, Guild Wars 2 recognizes the accomplishments commemorated by your original Guild Wars characters in the Hall of Monuments and provides you with unique rewards to showcase those achievements. What are the system requirements for Guild Wars 2? The system requirements haven't been finalized, but just as with the original Guild Wars series, we're committed to creating a beautiful game that will play great on mid-range gaming PCs. Dark Age of Camelot Friday Grab Bag
As the name implies, the Friday Grab Bag is a collection of community questions taken from the official Dark Age of Camelot forums. Add some announcements into the mix and you have a good read. Q. Is Quillan Muire in Muire's tomb supposed to drop any loot? It seems like he is the "boss" of the dungeon but she drops nothing different from his surrounding guards. I know he has a quest associated with her, but the other named Muires along that quest can drop items. Thanks! A. With a quick check to the bags o'loot the Lady of the Jewels has good news for you: Quillan Muire does have a chance to drop a small amount of unique loot, but it is very rare. Q. I have noticed that the blunt weapon given to druids by the trainer is called an "Arch Mace". But it is actually a hammer. Is it supposed to be a hammer and is mislabeled or is it a mace with the wrong graphic? A. After a quick glance at the mace looking like a hammer, the Lady of the Jewels says you are absolutely correct: The names of these items do not seem to fit with their appearance in game. Keep an eye on future patch notes about a correction to the names of these Druid weapons. Thank you for the report! Q. How do I add the guild ranks to the house friends list so I can set the different permission levels? A. In one quick motion The Bearded Wonder found your answer: If you look at the feedback for /housefriend it is as follows: Invalid Friend type. Correct format is /housefriend player/guild/rank/account/all/class/race If your guild rank is named "test" for example, you would type. /housefriend rank test Q. My question involves the Alchemy drop items. Why does the Ancient Crushed Focus Stone only drop one at a time, while the Ancient Troll Blood, Ancient Giant Blood, Ancient Mirror, Ancient Pure Mercury, and the Enriched Quicksilver drops off the same mobs in stacks of 5? The Ancient Necrotic Brain Fluid and the Ancient Lich Tooth will drop in stacks of 3. There doesn't appear to be a level variation between the drops, and they are all used with Alchemy of 1000+. Shouldn't they all be dropped in the same quantity? A. The Lady of the Jewels thought about this a moment: The player brings up an excellent point. I will look into what can be done about normalizing the alchemy drops across the board in a future patch. Q. I've been looking for a trophy mob - a pig called Jari. I've tried for many game-days to get it to spawn, either in the Abbey Farm or the Bandit Camp, by killing Wild Sows nearby. No luck so far. Is there any way you can confirm that it still exists or any advice you can offer? A. The Lady of the Jewels smiled and exclaimed: Jari is quite the elusive pig! She can be found at either the field next to Vetusta Abbey, or to the northwest wandering among the red dwarves. Her chance to spawn is very rare, however, and she shares a chance with the other pigs in both areas. Try hunting the pigs in both locations to give Jari a chance to show herself. Q. Upon deploying certain rams we've come across rams that you have to invite people on. I've asked many times in advice but to no avail. How do you invite people on a ram when it calls for an invitation? A. I interrupted a very serious conversation between The Bearded Wonder and the Blonde Gremlin about ninjas and pirates, the Blonde Gremlin in the middle of demonstrating a ninja move said: The command you need is /vinvite. Q. I'm looking for some clarification on the rest xp you implemented in 1.94. The patch notes are not clear about whether any unused rest xp is lost when a character logs out. For example, I log in a character to craft a few items but do not do any hunting. Would the rest xp that character has already accumulated carry over to the next time he logs in? Or would it be reset? A. As I read the question to The Bearded Wonder, he kept on nodding confidently at me, which kept me wondering if someone was standing behind me making funny faces. Back to School Fitness Plan
I'd like you to think ahead to your plans once your children do go back to school. There are a few things worth considering. For one, with the kids back in school, what type of time does this give back to you? I know summer plans often take priority over our intentions of sticking to a fitness plan. So now is a great time to think about how you will use an extra hour or so a day to help you get back on track and into a routine that allows you to look and feel your best. Another point to consider, I noticed how all the teachers made comments about how much Tyler has grown over the summer months. You know, our children are not the only ones who are noticed....you are noticed as well. What types of changes have you made? A delicate topic to consider, but you know it happens. Moms compare Moms. Now that you will be back into the school scene, what type of impression will you be leaving? I know a lot of moms who are tired of being compared, tired of feeling ashamed, and tired of feeling like they have to hide behind everyone else because they feel embarrassed about how they look. The attention is really is greater when you attend school events. Do you tend to avoid getting involved because of these factors? The time to make a difference is now. Whether you have one week or even a whole month before school starts, the choices you make now can impact how you feel about yourself and in turn can bring about a more uplifting string of results for you. 4 Step Back to School Action Plan 1. Renew Your Commitment Before you even begin to schedule that first workout or plan your meals for the week, you must take a moment to revisit why you want to do this in the first place. When you have a strong reason WHY you want to make a change, you are more likely to stick with it. If you have not yet done so, write your goals down and state your reasons why this is so important to you and post your goal sheet in a place where you can see it often. 2. Create a schedule What time will you have available that can be spent on taking care of you? Your workouts are just as important as the daily tasks that wind up in a slot on your schedule. When you write down your intentions, you are more likely to follow through. (TIP: you do not need to block off a full hour if you do not have it. A simple 10 minutes here and 10 minutes there will suffice) 3. Give Your Kitchen a Once Over Your workouts are only half the fat loss battle. What you are eating is the other. It will be extremely difficult to stay on track and see fast results if your kitchen is filled with junk. Toss the chips, cookies, candy, ready to eat boxed meals, sugar laden cereals, etc. 4. Do Something Different Summer shcedules tend to create habits that get in the way of out fitness goals....from sleeping in, to skipping a workout for it is too hot or too pretty outside, to indulging in one too may summer treats. If you just begin by identifying one habit you created this summer and replace it with a habit that brings with it positive results, then you are moving in the right direction. So instead of talking yourself into sleeping in again tomorrow, just think of how much more you can accomplish by waking up 10 minutes earlier - having that time just for you. Put these 4 tips into action and you will kick start your Back to School Fitness plan, making this all about getting Back to YOU. Take the action that will allow you begin losing 1-2 pounds of fat per week. Me me me me me!
Yup, all about me. For a change :) Soooo ... hmm, what about me. I'm a Mum - I got 2 kids, both boys, currently aged 7 and a half (mustn't forget that bit) and 5 years. Another on the way - 3 weeks to go. I'm married to a qualified Chef, who is currently teaching others how to become chefs. No, he does not do the cooking at home. Although he can, and ocassionally does. Just not as a rule. I also run a business from home, a web based parent support site that is lots of fun, very supportive and openly discusses the realities of parenting. Very rare indeed. The topics say it. Nowadays its uncommon to hear mothers worrying about childhood illness. And now there are new form of viruses that can infect your child's inmune system. What worrys me is the HMFD sickness thats effecting children all over the world. Some recovers but some dies. worst still these kids are so young. Just hope that i'll be extra careful when it concerns my children..

To Do Tip
It has been cold and wet for days now and the kids are beginning to get sick of TV!! So, here is a recipe for no cook play dough that takes only a few minutes to make and has a great consistency! 1 cup plain flour 1/2 cup salt 2 tablespoons cream of tartare 1 tablespoon oil a few drops of food colouring 1 cup just boiled water Mix all the dry ingredience together, then add the food colouring, oil and water very quickly and stir like crazy until dough forms. It then needs to be kneaded for a while...but that is it! Today I added some glitter so my daughter had 'fairy playdough.'

MINISTYLE attends Essentially for women conference
I am trying to work out how to upload photos within a post... I would love some assistance please. In the meantime I would like to share with you all, some information about a wonderful conference I attended today. Essentially for Women held a 2 day conference in St.Kilda called "Business & Life Mastery". I only had the opportunity to attend day 2 which covered many vital business aspects. Topics included developing your skills as a networking queen, overcoming fear of self promotion, establishing & maintaining lasting rapport, marketing your brand effectively just to name a few. It was a fun filled day with lots of laughs & activities. Most of the women were business mums with lots of passion & inspiration. It was a wonderful opportunity to network with everyone & to share life & business experiences with one another. I only found out about the event at the last minute but was so glad to have attended it. I walked away with a lot of insight & inspiration as well as making new contacts in varied businesses. The story about my travel in China travel The following morning I phoned Wei Wei and prepared myself to visit her in the university. By taxi I drove to China hotel . After a friendly “ni hao” the gatekeeper let me past the gate and I still think that he considered me for a teacher. I walked in the university area and went direction buildings. Then I saw a proud and beautiful looking Wei Wei. She is really a pleasant girl, a real young lady, and I like her very much. We walked to the dining-room and had a very nice talk. Wei Wei me also explained how the school system worked and told me also the function of the different buildings there. The lunch we consumed in the dining-room and the pay system by card is approximately the same such as we use. After the meal Wei Wei showed me still some rooms and afterwards I could also took a look in the chamber, which she shared with three other students. It saw all less negligently than that I would expect of four young girls. However, I felt very fort the study environment on this place. Sometimes it must be hard to be student. The pressure on the children is enormously and I think that the stress and discipline lie much higher than by us. Concerning the study methods I can’t say much because I have insufficient insight. After visiting the chambers we made some photograph and said “Hi’” to some students. Afterwards we drove back to the centre where Wei Wei had its next lessons. Here I took farewell and wished her a lot of success in its further future. I felt that this beautiful part of China tour was beyond now and I already looked forwards. I like this Beijing tour. Then I saw Xiaojing and she accompanied me to the airport, this I appreciate very much, and her father would come later to the airport for bring her back home. I knew that she shortly would fly to glascow in UK and this for its further studies and I hoped already that I could meet her later again. I really like to have her as my guest in Belgium and with pleasure I would be then her guide. Meanwhile I had got pleasant mobile message of May. In that message she told me that there would wait for me a girl in black dresses in the Kunming airport. I felt already that the next part of Tibet tour would become a very good one and that I would learn still more about common Chinese life. There would be an experience of much new things. I rally like china travel and the kind people. All people I already have met where fantastic! It had been really aroused curiosity to the Yi-girl and I hoped that we could have a good understanding. Because she would accompany me long time, as a guide, and then is a good understanding very important. A short time later I was sitting in the plane direction......... Kunming, Yunnan province. What a wonderful china tours they tell me ,we can travel to Yangtze River Cruise and Shanghai tour

Im a single mum now to twins aged 8 and struggling with the welfare to work participation. I to were told by my gp i was unfit to work due to major neurological symptoms i had since the birth of my boys,i have constant dizziness/vertigo and nausea all the time,everyday life is a struggle and now ive got to start work next week cleaning houses,im sitting here crying wondering how im going to work with this illness..on top of all this i have to report to my disability network once a week which is 40 min away and also i have to report to centelink every fortnight which is 25 min away.. Ive got my 2 boys at school and i have no help at all with them as their dad moved over to canada ..how the hell am i going to do all this running around on top of working and looking after my boys.. Im feeling like giving up cuz i just cant cope..if i was 100% well i would love to be working but feeling ill everyday and having to work cuz i have to do it is sheer ridiculous...people have sickies when they feel dizzy and nausea how can they justify making me work with it. Welfare to work is unfair...of course there are some people out there that should be working but when your doctor states that your unfit for work...YOUR UNFIT !! I think kids need their mother at home until they are older enough to look after themselves...you read in the newspapers about why kids are out of control these days...well i can give them an answer its because their mothers are out working while the kids are running a muck looking after themselves..single mums need to be with their kids...they have no one else to guide them so wrong!

Heart attack!
Heart Attack!!!! one of the most fear of all illnesses but how ready are we in terms of taking good care of our body?. And our health? Some of us simply didn't care or remain oblivious to whats going to happen if we didnt take good care of our body. I wasn't really concern abt all kinds of sickness out there. Like many others, i simply didn't care until my father in law had it. He had heart attack! The symtoms are: Prolonged crushing, squeezing or burning pain in the center of the chest Pain that radiates from the chest area to the neck, arms, shoulders or the jaw Shortness of breath Dizziness Nausea Chills and sweating Weak pulse Cold and clammy skin, gray pallor, a severe appearance of illness. Lucky for my F-i-l he went to the hospital sooner and was diagnose and treated. He undergo a bypass surgery, and have since recovered. And now i found out that my dad was diagnose with heart attact. I was kinda shock and worried abt my dad's conditions. My worries abt my family being plague with illness just gave me such a tremendous stress.

I agree with Jess - or is there some higher authority you can contact about it, because if their standards of a ‘clean and fit premises' are shown in your photos, then thats disgusting!! And you have a sick bubba too! Hope he gets better soon and hope you can start to relax in your new 'home'!! Poor things!!

I think you should write them a letter of complaint - pretty much what you've written in this blog post - and post it to them (minus the part slamming their real estate on the WWW (lol)) just so you have it in writing that you werent happy with their CRAPPY service! I hope Kaia is okay?! Give him some cuddles from us! Xx

A Mummy Scorned…
My little dude is still sick. The poor little thing was up all night with a fever, we are back to the Doc today. I lay the blame for this FULLY on our dumbass Real Estate agent! I shouldn’t have had to drag my poor little guy back & forth in this shitty weather to sort out crap with them! They never did get back to me on Monday as promised (big surprise!). He called yesterday, & told me there was no way we were getting any money back from them. Their reasoning was that; a) We had signed the lease based on the condition it was in, & b) If we were not happy with the condition of the place we should have notified them right away so they could have done something, not gone ahead & organized cleaners ourselves. Ok, so; a) It says right there in our lease that upon signing the lease, ‘the landlord agrees to make sure the premises are reasonably clean & fit to live in’. The agent argued that 1 persons idea of ‘reasonably clean’ differs from the next persons. I asked him ‘based on the photos I showed you, would you live in that?’. His answer? ‘No’. & b) Considering we signed the lease on Saturday & saw that the place was DISGUSTING, they are closed on Sunday, had a sick baby on Monday, went to the apartment on Tuesday to take photos & fill out the condition report (& pull down the filthy mouldy curtains), went to the Agent on Wednesday but of course nobody was able to see me & I had to make an appointment for Friday. Considering we were s’posed to be moving in on the Saturday my priority was to have a clean place for my baby, so I had to organize the cleaners for Friday! So realistically, this WAS letting them know straight away! Also, if I went by their ‘I’ll get back to you on Monday, but really I won’t bother to call ‘til Wednesday ‘ standard, we’d still be waiting to hear back from them about organizing the place to be cleaned! Ok, so I accept that they aren’t going to give us any money back. It just means I don’t have to waste any time cleaning the place when we leave (it still won’t be left in as shitty a condition as it was though, we just don’t generally live like PIGS)! Then the rest of the conversation went like this; Me: So about the balcony door which you didn’t give us a key for? Agent: Yeah I’ll have to track it down. Me: Soooo, can I expect to hear back from you soon? Agent: Well we don’t have it here so I’ll have to find out. Me: Soooo, should I expect to hear from you before the weekend? Agent: Well I’ll do my best but I can’t make any guarantees ok?! See ya later… Me: And about all the leaking taps? (Every tap in the place is pouring water!) Agent: Yep. Me: So is that going to be fixed soon? Agent: You have to fill out the formal repair enquiry form & bring it in. Me: Right. Agent: See ya… hung up! If anyone out there in the land of the www is looking to aquire some Real Estate, DO NOT use; PETER SHIPWAY REALTY of WEST RYDE (I’m not sure what the legalities of posting this are, perhaps it comes under slander? Eleventh Heaven
Well, it was bound to happen, he couldn't live forever. Poor old Max who we've had since he was 6 weeks old, won't be with us much longer. The vet says he has a "dicky ticker" and could "turn up toes any minute" (medical jargon, try to keep up). Sad yes, but he's 13.5 years old - that's about 94 dog years - so he's had a very nice life. Anyhow Jed's not happy at all. Eve took it bravely (shrugged her shoulders ). Jed however is very upset at the thought of Max going to "Eleven". We've tried to explain that Max is very old, and sick now and we need to take care of him, and try to keep him comfortable, enjoy him while we still have him but that pretty soon he will go to sleep forever and go to heaven. Jed says "noooo! Please I don't want Max to go to Eleven! I want him to stay with us forever and ever and ever and ever and.....". Poor Jed. Don't quite know what to say to him. We've explained it as best we can and try to reassure him that it will be ok but he's so stubborn. Max mujst live forever and that's that.

The vet says he has a "dicky ticker" and could "turn up toes any minute" (medical jargon, try to keep up). Sad yes, but he's 13.5 years old - that's about 94 dog years - so he's had a very nice life. Anyhow Jed's not happy at all. Eve took it bravely (shrugged her shoulders ). Jed however is very upset at the thought of Max going to "Eleven". We've tried to explain that Max is very old, and sick now and we need to take care of him, and try to keep him comfortable, enjoy him while we still have him but that pretty soon he will go to sleep forever and go to heaven. Jed says "noooo! Please I don't want Max to go to Eleven! I want him to stay with us forever and ever and ever and ever and.....". Poor Jed. Don't quite know what to say to him. We've explained it as best we can and try to reassure him that it will be ok but he's so stubborn. Max mujst live forever and that's that.

Problems Down Mexico Way
Jed and I went to a furniture store today to pay off a tallboy we bought for our bedroom. When we were leaving, I had my hand on the front door when I turned around and here was Jed, sitting on the floor right next to the door, legs stretched out in front of him. I said "what on earth are you doing?" and he replied, so matter of factly with straight face "I just checking if I gotta sore bum. Nope, is better now". And up he got and walked out with me. What goes on in their little minds? Laughed out loud at that one.
